Springfield Township is a civil township in southern Kalkaska County. Nestled in the heart of beautiful Northern Michigan, it encompasses 35.5 square miles of forested State Land and residential homesteads. It boasts 4700 acres of State Land, miles of trails, inland lakes, streams and the beautiful Manistee River within its boundaries.
While Springfield Township does features a healthy whitetail deer and bear population, opportunities abound
for many year round outdoor recreation activities, including snowmobiling, cross country skiing, hiking, berry
and morel harvesting, fishing, festivals and simply exploring the many trails and by-ways that make Springfield unique.
Maintaining its predominately rural façade, it is a welcome respite for all who appreciate the beauty of the great outdoors!
